Seoul, Cheongju, Ulsan, Busan; Korea
13.11.-17.11.2023
In 2023, the National Center for Art Research(NCAR) held its first study tour, focusing on establishing a network between national museums and art professionals, fostering intellectual exchange, and exploring collaboration opportunities. The tour visited 11 contemporary art-related galleries and institutions across four regions, allowing participants to inspect exhibitions and engage in discussions with directors and curators.
The tour aimed to strengthen artistic exchanges between Japan and Korea, solidifying the artistic network between the two countries.

The Japanese curators participating in the NCAR Study Tour visited major museums and art institutions across Seoul, Cheongju, Ulsan, and Busan, engaging in discussions on exhibition planning, collection management, international exchange, and public programs. Through meetings with museum and institution representatives, they explored the operational strategies of Korea’s contemporary art institutions and examined potential avenues for future collaboration between the Korean and Japanese art scenes.
